BOOK AS BODY | COLLABORATIVE PROJECT

Book as Body is a work of many hands and more sensitivity: Marco Ambrosi and Monica Dengo, which was added Tsering Wangmo Dhompa. A photographer, a calligrapher, a poet.  The Dhompa's ''dharma'' compositions and his thoughts have been translated into calligraphy, to accompany photographs in which the body is redefined by writing. This produces  images in which the person tends to vanish, leaving its description, a tangle of writing. A page of writing, face to face with the body - like a book - becomes a mirror in which the body is page and the page is body.

Tsering Wangmo Dhompa grew between India and Nepal. He holds an MA from the University of Massachusetts at an MFA in Creative Writing at San Francisco State University. She has published two books of poetry: In the Absent Everyday (2005) and Rules of the House (2002), both published by Apogee Press.Works in San Francisco for a non-profit foundation that provides aid to people of the Himalayas.
